Mogul League managers are expected to take whatever steps are necessary to prevent their teams from getting to a negative cash (bankrupt) condition.

It may occur that a team will go into the red at some point in the season and may even finish the season with negative cash. In that case, the owner is expected to make whatever steps are necessary (selling players, etc.) to get back into a positive cash position before the start of the next season.

If a team still has negative cash when the April 1 file is released, after any bonuses, luxury taxes and revenue sharing adjustments are included, the team will have until opening day to get back into the black. If that does not happen, that team's highest paid pitcher and highest paid batter will then be free released to free agency after the first sim.

Per BBM rules, a team with negative cash cannot bid on or sign free agents, cannot resign existing players and cannot make trades that would increase payroll.
